Safe Environment

We, at St. Matthew Catholic Church located in the Archdiocese of San Antonio are an organization with strong values of responsibility and integrity, and a commitment to safe environments. Our Code of Conduct contains general guidelines for ministry with the highest moral and ethical standards.

St. Matthew Church is committed to an environment where open, honest communications are the expectation, not the exception. We want you to feel comfortable in approaching the us and/or the Archdiocese in instances where you believe Code of Conduct violations have occurred.

To this end, please note that all staff & volunteers are required to complete the Virtus Training, We are offering this training online, so it is a self-paced exercise. The instructions and appropriate links are included on this page.

Please contact us or the Archdiocese when reporting or if you have any questions regarding the Virtus Training.

A reminder to all clergy and volunteers that the Archdiocese is requiring training in three areas:

• Protecting God’s Children;
• Sexual Harassment;
• Vulnerable Adults (only those who serve the elderly)

1. Click on First Time Registrant
2. Scroll down to San Antonio Archdiocese
3. Create a User ID and Password. Complete registration.
4. Read the Code of Conduct, and then check the box.
5. You will be assigned two or three of the training sessions.
6. Upon completion you can print the certificates, but it is not necessary. It will be recorded in our database.

 We will schedule more live training sessions as well for those who do not want to complete the training online.
