St. Matthew Habitat for Humanity Ministry
Prologue:
This is the thirteenth in a series of articles that have been appearing in the Sunday bulletin over the last several weeks. These articles are designed to help our parishioners understand what Habitat for Humanity is all about, provide up to date facts, and guide our parishioners in supporting the project.
Chapter Thirteen: What’s next??
Praise God from whom all blessings flow, through the power of the Holy Spirit and the “overwhelming” generosity of our parishioners, we have raised the funds needed to sponsor our 6th Habitat house. May God bless all those who have supported our efforts in providing a new home for one family in need. Thank you for putting your faith into action by donating to our ministry.
So what’s next: 1) Pray – please continue to pray for the success of this ministry. 2) Volunteer to help build the house, make phone calls, provide food/drink for our volunteers, and/or donate money for expenses associated with our volunteers (postage, photos, etc). Volunteer sign-up will be held the weekend of January 12 – 13. Phone-a-thons will be held on January 28 - 30 to assign build dates and February 4 – 5 to secure food and drinks for the volunteers. The build will start on Friday, February 29 and will continue on Fridays and Saturdays until we landscape on May 3. The build site is out near Palo Alto College. 3) Attend the 6:00 PM mass on Thursday, February 28 that will be offered for the safety of the volunteers and the success of the build. 4) Attend the dedication ceremony and the blessing of the home on May 10, and 5) PRAISE GOD for always providing for the needs of this ministry.
The bible verse that continues to guide our ministry is from the letter of James, “I will show you my faith by what I do.” Thank you, thank you for your constant support and my God bless you. For more information, contact Susan McClure at 341-9623. [top]
