ALTAR SERVER #4 - SACRAMENTARY

1. Check off your name in the Altar Server’s Attendance Sheet.

2. Put On a proper size alb and correct color cincture for the Liturgy.

 

3. Pray with the priest, deacon and other liturgical ministers in the Sacristy before Liturgy begins.

 

4. Make sure that the Sacramentary is on the table next the Priest’s chair.

 

5. At the signal of the priest or deacon, begin the procession in for the Liturgy. A space of 3 pews for each group is appropriate distance. AS4 walks behind the candle bearers.

 

6. At the FOOT OF THE SANCTUARY, BOW, and go to your seat. AS4’s seat is to the left of the priest unless otherwise instructed.

 

 

 

7. At the signal of the priest, bring the SACRAMENTARY to him for Opening Prayer. He may wave his hand or pick up the Sacramentary. Be ready.

 

8. Stand by the priest to receive gifts from the people.

 

9. Wait until all gifts have been received before going to the Altar.

 

10. Bring up the SACRAMENTARY to the altar. You’ll do this AFTER the gifts are placed on the altar.

 

11. At the conclusion of the “Holy, Holy”, kneel on the left side steps during the Eucharistic Prayer.

 

 

22. At communion time, you are to stand in line at one of the Communion Stations, going to the one closest to where you sit. Receive communion from the Eucharistic Minister. Receive communion from the Eucharistic Minister.

 

 

23. After receiving communion, return to your seat and either sing or quietly pray

 

24. At the dismissal stand at your proper place for leaving the sanctuary. On the RIGHT by the cross bearer.

 

25. Hang up your alb and cincture neatly.
