ALTAR SERVER #1 - CROSS-BEARER
2. Put On
a proper size alb and correct color cincture for the
Liturgy.
3. Pray
with the priest, deacon and other liturgical ministers in the
Sacristy before Liturgy begins.
4. Get
processional cross to lead the procession. At the signal
of the priest or
Deacon, begin the procession in for the Liturgy.
5. A space of 3 pews
for each group is appropriate distance.
6. At the foot of
the sanctuary, STOP, then BOW from your neck
in front of the Altar, and place the processional cross in its
proper place. 7. AS1’s seat
is at the first stool to the left of the priest unless
otherwise instructed.
8. At the beginning
of the Offertory(when the Ushers start to distribute the
baskets), stand and take the Cross to the back of the Church.
9. When the priest
goes to receive the gifts, take the processional
cross to lead the gift bearers to the sanctuary.
10. Lead
gift bearers to the Altar when all is ready at the signal of the
Hospitality Minister.
11. At the conclusion
of the “Holy, Holy”, kneel on the left side steps
during the Eucharistic Prayer.
12. At communion
time, you are to stand in line at one of the Communion Stations,
going to the one closest to where you sit. Receive
communion from the Eucharistic Minister.
13. At the dismissal,
take processional cross and stand at appropriate
place.
14. After the priest
leads in bowing and all have bowed, lead the
procession out of sanctuary.
15. After the Sending
Forth Song concludes, replace the processional
cross to its proper place on the stand.
16. Hang up
your alb and cincture neatly in the proper place.
